Our first visit to Arches National Park was mid-morning on a Wednesday in late May. We sat in line for at least 30 minutes. We were afraid there would be nowhere to park
but people seemed to move fairly quickly so we did find parking.

We used Ballard RV Park in Thompson Springs, UT as home base for Moab, Arches, Dead Horse, and the Island in the Sky part of Canyonlands. Thompson Springs feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. It’s kind of a ghost town but there is a gas station. We went around Memorial Day so much of Moab was full.
We saw a lot the first day including Park Avenue, Balanced Rock, The Windows section and a viewpoint for Delicate Arch. Then we went to the Moab Brewery to eat.

Went to Arches an hour earlier than yesterday and waited in line far less. We decided to hike to Delicate Arch which is a 3 mile round trip hike. A lot of uphill. It took me about an hour & 15 minutes to get to the arch and 45 minutes to get down.

Afterward I think we did Sand Dune Arch, and Broken Arch. That same day I think we did Landscape Arch too. Michael did tunnel Arch and Pine Arch but I was really hot and
tired so I took pictures.

I think we went back to the brewery and had poutine and ice cream.
